Ben has had an amazing time with you and has clearly really enjoyed this placement a great deal. It was usually the first thing he mentioned when talking about the week ahead. It has been such a valuable experience for him and I am so grateful for the time, patience and support given by the staff for making this possible. The wonderful, framed photo montage of his work was a lovely record; I know how much effort it takes to put these things together. Also the detailed and supportive job reference you provided was very illuminating as it set out all the various activities that he has experienced, which required him to learn new skills. All his experiences with you gave him the grounding he needed to move forward successfully into his placements at his final vocational college and helped him to land his first paid job at Kier Highways.

The students really enjoy attending this placement. Days at Rooted & Booted provide a meaningful, realistic work environment including the fun and positivity that any employee would wish to be part of in the workplace. I have seen the students grow in confidence through the tasks that they undertake and their interactions with the Rooted & Booted staff. The variety of the available tasks allows for all abilities and interests to be included. They work both in teams and individually to complete tasks and form a bond which has grown throughout the year. The Rooted & Booted staff really value the students’ work and ensure that this recognition is rewarded.
