Nestled between badgers setts and two babbling brooks, within a wooded dell whose slopes are currently covered in bluebells and wild anemones lies our new seat of therapeutic learning on the farm. This space is already being regularly used by a local school for children who struggle in the traditional classroom. Here they can learn about the natural world, native flora and fauna and the seasonal cycle in a very practical, hands-on manner and they also foster resilience, independence, teamwork and creativity through the organised activities. A trail camera has been installed to monitor the abundance of wildlife and to reinforce all the outdoor learning. Preparing this beautifully natural spot has also been a mentally uplifting experience for all those involved, and over the next year the R&B team will be opening up a further 700m of educational pathway that meanders down this enchanting dell.
