The field conversion has all been about the 4 Ws: Wireworm – after two rounds of mustard sowing and considerable expense we hope these little veg lovers have now gone; Water – ditching and drains complete with mains water supply established; Wind – new hedge planted to improve shelter; and “Wabbits” – fencing and netting nearly complete to keep them out. And the good news is that our trial veg bed in the middle of the field produced a decent variety of produce – so bring it on next year as we expand! We have also made headway with the new infrastructure having cleared the way for our new reception centre, erected a very smart new greenhouse for plant propagation and created a new access point into the site. Still lots to go at but a tremendous start by everyone involved.
