Our farm troopers helped us build a very impressive beacon that was lit high up on Wycherley’s Bank as part of the national Battle’s Over series of beacons across the country of Sunday 11 November. We commemorated the sacrifice made by the 18 members of the Parish who lost their lives in the Great War and celebrated the centenary of Armistice Day. The Rooted & Booted team really enjoyed contributing to this important community event which also involved a full field remembrance service with a brass band and military bagpiper followed by a great social – all in one of the farm’s shippens near the beacon!
